Competition Day!

I can't even begin to explain how proud I am of each and every student who attended the Future City competition over weekend.  The students' hard work throughout the trimester was evidently apparent.  I had many judges/engineers/students/parents commenting to me on how amazing our city looked and how well our students were presenting.  For those students who did not present, their behavior was exemplary and everyone stuck together and had the feel of a close-knit team.  I feel honored to call myself their teacher!  :)

We did not make it to finals, but we did win the award for "Best Thinking Outside the Box" for our work on the model.  I say bravo!

Dr. Dimuzio Visit

Here are some photos from our guest speaker on Wednesday, Dr. Jessica Dimuzio.  She is an award winning children's author, a veterinarian, and an environmentalist who lives here in the Norristown area.  Her book Bark! Bark! Bark for My Park is about how she and her dog helped save open space at Norristown Farm Park.  Dr. Dimuzio will be working with students throughout the year to envision, create, and follow through on an environmental action plan.
